And it rained, and it rained

Just like in the 100 acre wood where Winnie the Pooh keeps himself! I know this is an odd weather pattern, to stay so wet and cool all spring-long, but I’m sure like most natural things, change is imminent, bound to happen soon. The hay fields are ripe and too wet, some of my new tomato plants are complaining of wet feet. The soil will dry and temperatures will warm, significantly, perhaps. Regardless, we all move forward. The flowers and birds still show signs of hope with their songs and flowers, and so do I. Every season brings change.

What have we been missing by NOT having all this rain, year-to-year? Clouds of pollen? Ample food for the deer to browse with their babies? Lots more water’s edge for fish to spawn, and shore birds to hunt? All the above. And for one - I don’t water the herbs and garden so much. Never seen the mullein and burdock grow so tall as they are, now! All I can say is the herbs I planted last year are huge and well-established this year.

Maybe it’s a good time to buy these herbs and stick them in the wet ground so they too can get a good start? Looks like they have a couple weeks to root in before the hot weather shows, if it shows. No, when! Who knows? Nature of things.
